- Ready To Rejuvenate Your Face Without Surgery?
Pretty much anyone you meet wants to look and feel their best, and usually, when aging takes a toll on the face, it also takes a toll on someone’s confidence. Some people try to reverse aging and prevent it from worsening by using moisturizers and retinoids, while others seek surgical intervention to remove and tighten skin.
But what types of treatments are available between home skin care and surgery? There are numerous medical-grade skin care products with excellent ingredients that can very well improve the appearance of the skin, but there comes a point when the skin needs more help than creams that you apply to the surface.
Not everyone wants to undergo anti-aging surgery. Some people plan to have it in the future but seek ways to delay the need for it as long as possible.
So what treatments are available for people who aren’t comfortable undergoing surgery or want to keep their skin at its best until they need surgery? From Genius RF microneedling to threads, several non-surgical treatments are possible that not only keep your skin looking its best but also work to rejuvenate and keep your skin quality at its healthiest.
Chemical Peels & Facials
Most people of any age can benefit from a good chemical peel or facial treatment. Facials typically require no downtime, while most chemical peels require a short recovery as your body heals itself to reveal new, healthy skin.
Facials can range from light, gentle treatments to deeper, more advanced treatments, and we’ll recommend the best type for you depending on your goals, skin type, and preferences. From classic cleansing facials to microdermabrasion and dermaplaning, customized facials can gently exfoliate or go deep into the skin to remove dead skin cells. Regularly exfoliating your skin keeps dead skin cells away, evens skin tone, smooths skin texture, and creates an overall glow.
At HerSpace MedSpa, we offer a range of skin peel treatments—light, medium, and deep chemical peels—to resurface and improve the appearance of damaged skin. By removing the top layer of skin and any dead skin cells, the carefully prepared chemical peel solution allows the next layer of skin to develop, revealing firmer, smoother, healthier skin.
Depending on the treatment required and your schedule, we recommend returning for facials or chemical peels every 1-3 months to keep your skin glowing.
Lasers & Energy Treatments
Laser & energy treatments revitalize your skin after the sun and aging leave signs of damage. At HerSpace MedSpa, we are proud to be able to offer MOXI laser treatments and BroadBand Light (BBL) intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments.
Using non-ablative laser energy, MOXI delivers fractionated microthermal zones to target and improve superficial pigmentation issues, wrinkles, pores, and rough texture.
Using light energy, BBL targets the pigment in the skin precisely to initiate the body’s natural healing process and replace dark spots and other pigmentation issues with new, healthy skin cells.
Patients typically get a series of MOXI or BBL treatments for initial results and return to our office for maintenance treatments every six months.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are an integral part of a facial rejuvenation treatment plan. A wide range of dermal filler types is available, each designed to address specific concerns, from restoring volume to smoothing wrinkles to creating a more prominent contour.
Some fillers are also more suited for different areas of the face and neck depending on their ingredients, thickness, and longevity. For example, Restylane Contour is excellent for adding contour and youthful plumpness to the cheeks. Juvederm Voluma is great for restoring lost volume and smoothing out wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
If you want to maintain a defined facial contour and youthful volume, adding dermal fillers to your beauty plan with regular treatments every 6 to 12 months can help you look and feel your best.
Neurotoxins
The most popular wrinkle treatment continues to be Botox, as it not only smooths out the appearance of existing wrinkles but also paralyzes the facial muscles you use most often to prevent the formation of future fine lines and wrinkles. Botox, and alternative neurotoxins Dysport and Xeomin, temporarily relaxes wrinkle-inducing facial muscles that contract often by sending chemical signals to your nerves.
We recommend returning every 3-4 months for regular treatments of Botox or your preferred neurotoxin to maintain the best results and prevent wrinkles from forming again.
Genius RF Microneedling
From aging to environmental factors, life can take a toll on the skin and show signs of damage over time. If, when looking back at old photos, you notice how smooth, clear, and healthy your skin was, we have good news: there’s a treatment that naturally tells your skin to turn back the clocks.
By using ultra-fine needles to leave tiny wounds in your skin, microneedling induces your body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production and revealing the smooth, supple, evenly toned skin you once had and loved. At HerSpace MedSpa, we often recommend combining microneedling with radiofrequency energy using the state-of-the-art Lutronic Genius® system.
Using gold-plated needles and advanced technology, Genius RF delivers radiofrequency energy in precise areas to spark your body’s natural healing response. Safe and effective on various skin types and tones, RF microneedling has all the benefits of microneedling, including smoothing out wrinkles and improving scars, combined with the advantages of radiofrequency energy, such as tightening up loose and sagging skin.
PRP
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) has become an increasingly popular treatment for healing and regenerating the skin. It is often combined with other facial rejuvenation treatments, such as Genius RF microneedling or lasers, to help the skin heal faster and more dramatically from the procedure.
Using the patient’s blood cells, PRP is known to treat a wide range of skin concerns, including:
- Acne and burn scars
- Tear troughs/under-eye bags
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sagging skin
- Volume loss
- Sun damage
- Stretch marks
Threads
Want to lift and tighten the skin on your face and neck but not quite ready for surgery? You may be an excellent candidate for a thread lift. Once carefully inserted beneath the skin using a small needle, threads lift aging tissues, add contour to the face, and stimulate collagen production over time for improved plumpness. By activating your body’s natural collagen production process, threads leave your skin tighter and smoother.
Your body naturally absorbs the threads after 4-6 months, but the effects of collagen stimulation are long-lasting. We usually recommend patients have three initial sessions, followed by maintenance treatments every 12-18 months, but we’ll customize your treatment plan during your consultation to address your goals and concerns.
Kybella
It’s common to start noticing a “double chin” forming with age, as the skin in the face and neck becomes thinner and weaker and begins to sag. “Double chin” can also be caused by pockets of stubborn fat building up beneath the chin, known as submental fat, a common aging sign. Kybella is a non-surgical fat reduction alternative to liposuction, specifically designed to treat submental fullness, or the “double chin,” revealing a more defined chin and jawline and tightened skin around the neck and jaw area.
When we place small injections underneath your chin, Kybella starts using the active ingredient deoxycholic acid, found naturally in the body, to break down and absorb submental fat. The amount of treatment sessions needed depends entirely on the extent of your submental fullness. The HerSpace team will investigate your concerns and share treatment plan recommendations based on this assessment and your goals.
