What Is Sofwave?

Sofwave™ is a non-invasive, clinically proven, and FDA-cleared treatment that uses ultrasound technology to target the dermis, the layer of skin responsible for collagen production. It is highly effective in improving skin laxity and firmness, primarily on the face and neck, upper arms and abdomen.

Sofwave™ helps to smooth wrinkles, tighten skin, and reduce mild to moderate sagging by stimulating collagen and elastin production. Sofwave’s integrated cooling system helps protect the skin’s surface.

How Does Sofwave Work?

SUPERB™ technology, ultrasound energy precisely passes through the skin’s surface (the epidermis), heating the mid-dermal tissue at just the right depth and temperature to rejuvenate collagen fibers and improve the overall appearance of the skin. Additionally, there is an integrated cooling SofCool™ mechanism that protects the uppermost skin layer from burning. The impacted treatment zones stimulate a healing response, called neocollagenesis, which increases and regenerates the collagen in the skin, leading to the reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

What Makes Sofwave™ Unique?

Unlike lasers, which rely on light, or chemical peels, which exfoliate the surface, Sofwave™ uses ultrasound energy. This makes it safe for men and women with any skin type, including those with darker skin tones, at any time of the year (even the sunny summer months), with no downtime.

Is Sofwave™ Right for Me?

Sofwave™ is ideal for women or men with mild to moderate skin laxity or wrinkles, typically in their 30s or older. It’s safe for all skin tones and while it can be used on some body areas for toning, its primary application is facial rejuvenation.

Sofwave™ is not, however, recommended if you are pregnant or have implanted electrical devices.

What Happens During a Sofwave™ Treatment?

A full-face Sofwave treatment usually takes 45-60 minutes. Your aesthetic professional will start by cleansing your skin and applying a clear gel to help the device glide smoothly.

Once your skin is ready, we’ll use the Sofwave handpiece to deliver the ultrasound energy. You’ll feel a warming sensation from the ultrasound energy, but most people find the treatment comfortable, with only mild and brief discomfort.

Downtime After Sofwave™

While Sofwave has minimal downtime, following these tips can help you make the most of your results:

• Stay hydrated to support skin healing
• Avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen
• Skip aggressive skincare products and exfoliants for a few days
• Follow your skin professional’s post-treatment instructions

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Many people see noticeable improvement after one Sofwave treatment. The recommended treatment schedule is 2 treatments at 3-month intervals, then once yearly to maintain optimal results.

When Will I See Results?

Results can be seen immediately with improved results over time. Many of our patients start noticing results as early as 4 weeks. Since collagen production takes time, you’ll see continued improvements for up to 3 months after treatment. Results typically last one year or more.

What Results Can I Expect After Sofwave™?

Sofwave is designed to deliver gradual, natural-looking results. You can expect improvements in skin firmness and texture along with a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
